A WoW playing Senator?! If she’s trying to grind all her dailies in Mists we’ll never get anything accomplished in Washington! ;) Pretty funny article despite your partisanship.

Try not to get bogged down feeling like you have to bust ass on dailies everyday (unless you love them). The Valor gear was not designed in MoP to make you “Raid Ready”. It would take way too long with the weekly Valor cap. Focus on getting all of your gear to Heroic 463 and we can hit up The Stone Gaurd! Here is a good video that helps explain this concept. It’s a little long but worth it.

Guide to Keybinding

What is keybinding?

Keybinding is just as it sounds, binding your abilities to your mouse and/or keyboard keys.

Why keybind?

Ever been in a pinch and needed that one “oh shit!” button but wasn’t able to get to it in time and having missed it caused you to die or your raid to wipe? Maybe you spent too much time looking on your bars for an ability or maybe you misclicked, happens to all of us at some point. Personally I realized that I was making a lot of mistakes in raids by being a “clicker”. By keeping my eyes on what abilities I was clicking I wasn’t paying attention to what was goin on around my character. That meant I was making a lot of noob mistakes like standing in fire and dodging encounter mechanics. Even on encounters when a lot wasn’t happening I noticed another problem, being primarily a DPS player, I noticed a HUGE problem. My DPS was nowhere near what it should’ve been. Over some time and investigation I figured out why. I was taking too much time to find, move to, and click the ability I needed, not to mention the lag between clicking and actually using said ability. This was a DPS loss for me as I could have spent the time it took to look for what I needed, click, etc…casting/using more abilities which means more DPS which also mean I’m better off as well ad the rest of the raid and let’s face it bitches love big numbers.

But how the hell do I start keybinding?!

This is the easiest part. It might be a little weird to get used to but you’ll get the hang of it in no time.

First you need to figure out what spells/abilities you use MOST or think in terms of what your MOST important abilities are. Within those you figure out which ones out of them are what. For me, being a Destro Warlock, I use Curse of Elements, Conflagration, Incinerate, Immolate, Chaos Bolt, Fel Flame and Shadowburn as my main DPS abilities. These are my most important spells besides my DPS cooldowns. Out of those spells I know which are my maintains, spams, and frequent use. Incinerate is my spam spell so knowing this I want to have it easily accessible meaning I want it close and easy to hit. Immolate and Curse of Elements are my maintains meaning they’re used when they’re uptime is expired or about to expire, I want these in proximity to my spam spells. Chaos Bolt, Conflagration, Fel Flame and Shadowburn are my frequent use spells meaning they aren’t used as much as my spam spells or maybe not as much as my maintains, I still want these in a comfortable range of my spam spell and maintains. I’m sure you can see now how I’m working my way out from my most used ability.

Keybinding your main will make it easy to keybind all of your other toons. You’ll eventually create your own theme for binds. My cooldowns are pretty much the same for all my toons same goes for all my other stuff, it makes it easy to remember where they are.

It also helps to bind as you level. Starting out fresh and small is a HUGE help. Kind of weens you off of clicking.

What keys can I use though?

You can use any key you’d like as long as it’s comfortable to you.

I tend to use Q,E,R,T,F,G,H,Z,X,C,V for my main abilities (closest being most used) 1-5 is for Aux abilities then of course my Naga 1-12 is for macros and Aux abilities/uses I need in a pinch. I still use A,S,W,D to move (A and D are strafe) but you can bind those too if you use L+R mouse buttons to move. But as I said before, use any key you feel is best for you.

How do I actually bind my keys?

You can either go through the keybinding options by hitting ESC and then clicking the keybinding opition and manually do everything there OR you can do it a far easier way and use bartender 4.

Bartender4 is a full ActionBar replacement mod. It provides you with all the features needed to fully customization most aspects of your action and related bars. It also has an option for keybinding which makes it SOOOO easy to bind your keys. Just /kb to bring up the option, hover over the ability you want bound and press the key you wanna bind it to. BAM you’re done.

Hope this was informative and pushes you to keybind. If I missed anything or if you have any questions you know where to find me, ask away.

New Raid Loot Process

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/4736886

I hadn’t seen anyone link to this or talk about it. This was hidden at the bottom of the currency conversion link posted earlier this week. Not sure how this is going to work out. Wonder if the probabilities for each player will be altered and, if so, what the factors will be. Hope this isn’t something you have all already discussed.

Raid Videos Updated

Walk-thrus have been added for each of the 18 raid bosses in MOP. As a reminder these are from the beta so things could change a bit but the mechanics will most likely stay the same. We will set our priority list when we get closer to raiding. Raid Videos
